Vegetable plants

Vegetable plants are a very broad group – nearly 250 species are used as vegetables worldwide. They are usually annual or biennial plants that can be eaten either raw or cooked. The most popular crops include onions, carrots, parsley, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce, spinach, kale, cucumber, peppers and tomato. Many threats – diseases and pests – are emerging in vegetable cultivation.
