Grapevine

A climbing plant in the vine family grown for its juicy and fleshy berries. Depending on the species and variety with fruits having different shapes, sizes, flavours and colours – from light green through pink, red to black. There are currently about 5,000 varieties, of which about 250 are commercially grown. The deep root system makes the plant relatively resistant to water stress. Nutrient needs vary depending on the variety and the expected yield.
