AgroFood fair in Sudan

AgroFood fair in Sudan

From 13-16 October 2021, the ‘Sudan + AgroFood + Packaging Water Systems’ Fair took place in Khartoum, where we presented technological solutions for BIO-GEN products.

SUDAN AgroFood + Packaging + Water Systems is an international trade fair for the agri-food industry supported by the Sudanese Ministry of Agriculture and other local institutions. Sudan, with a population of 40 million, is the fourth largest economy in sub-Saharan Africa. Since the lifting of the economic embargo, there has been a significant increase in investment especially in the agri-food sector, which is the second largest business sector in the country. Agriculture in Sudan accounts for around 40% of GDP. Sudan has the second largest irrigated area in Africa after Egypt. Sudan is the third largest exporter of sugar and a large producer of cotton. Other major crops include sesame, peanuts, sugar cane, dates, citrus fruits, mangoes, coffee, tobacco and meat.

Our fair stand hosted the Polish Ambassador to Sudan, Mr Michal Murkocinski, and Tomasz Andruch from the Polish Embassy in Cairo, the Polish Consul in Sudan, Dr Kamal Aldin Abdalmanem together with Dr Mohamed Suliman – an employee of the consulate. On the BIO-GEN side, our distributor Abdelrahman Haboub also took part in the talks. Visitors were particularly interested in products for growing crops such as Superplon K, Revital, Rhizobium and our new product this year, AzotoPower. There was a lot of talk about BIOGEN probiotics, mainly for cattle and young animals. The fair ended with many interesting contacts being made.
